Thomas regularly helps run workshops in schools, both as an individual and as part of his chamber group Apollo’s Cabinet. Thomas is an experienced and inspiring workshop leader, having had training through the Wigmore Hall's Chamber Tots scheme. He has subsequently led workshops across England at places like Saffron Walden and Peterborough for CYM and in various schools throughout London. During lockdown he adapted quickly and he was a part of many online workshops, for example with the Scottish National Recorder Orchestra, in which he arranged Handel's "The Arrival of the Queen of Sheba" for their ensemble.
He is the principal recorder teacher of Young Music Makers based in North London, where he both directs multiple ensembles and gives individual lessons and has gained over 10 years of teaching experience having built up a large number of private students.
More recently he was selected to join the team of musicians at Live Music Now, a charity founded by Yehudi Menuhin, bringing music to schools, carehomes, hospitals, community settings and libraries.
